Button Bling

Buttons are big at the moment with vintage and brand new buttons being used to decorate everything from bags to pillows.  I just had to succumb to the growing trend and my studio worktable now resembles a haberdashery version of a sweet shop.

I have seen lots of lovely button necklaces but I wanted to use the Tiara Heaven touch to create hair accessories using these lovely colourful items.   I hope you like the following creations which include button Kirby grips, decorated barretts and a very funky retro style ring.

All these lovely items are part of the Tiara Heaven Day Wear Collection and at present can be found in The Palm House in Weymouth, Dorset but please feel free to contact me if you would like to adorn yourself with any of these colourful items and watch this space for my day wear collection to hit the Internet.

Hand Beaded Bouquet

I am really excited to show you Tiara Heaven's hand beaded bouquet.  For some time I have been wanting to offer crystal bouquets as part of the Tiara Heaven collection but I wanted to create a contemporary stylish look that would complement a bride no matter what her style.  Each flower is hand beaded by myself in my Dorset studio.  The individual care I give to each bouquet allows the bride to choose the colours for the flowers, the Swarovski crystals that sparkle in the centre of each flower, the wire and stem colour, and the bride is even free to supply her own colour ribbon for the handle if she wishes which allows each bouquet to be totally unique.

Hand Beaded Posy £310.00 from Tiara Heaven

My desire to create an everlasting bouquet as part of the Tiara Heaven collection came from the days when I used to run my family business pressing and mounting wedding bouquets.  I came across some literature that we used to use saying "A bride's memories of her wedding day are something that she will always treasure. Locked within those memories are the flowers that she carried." and I felt it was time to get designing.  The posy that I have created will not only be a lasting heirloom but in a time when getting married abroad is common, having your flowers ready and safely packed away in your suitcase will mean you will have one less thing to organise.

The lovely posy shape means that after your big day the flowers will sit perfectly in a vase creating a stunning decoration for years to come.  The flowers can also be divided to provide keepsakes for the mother of the bride, bridesmaids or whoever you feel would love the lasting memory of your wedding day.

I hope you enjoy this stunning new Tiara Heaven design.

You've got the most amazing Vintage style wedding dress and hair accessories all ordered ready for your big day, but how do you follow the theme through into your reception so you can create a truly memorable day for your guests to talk about for years to come.  Here I have compiled together some simple yet very effective ideas that can be achieved whatever your budget and can be created either by a professional or even by your own fair hand, all according to how brave you are feeling!

Instead of giving the traditional wedding favours of sugared almonds to your guests, why not get creative.  Boxed edible gifts like macaroons that have a nostalgic edge or even long lasting handmade gifts like these lovely scented hearts would be a fantastic surprise for your guests to find at their table settings.

Bunting is a vintage must have to decorate your reception. This can be made by yourself if you have the time and patience, but fear not because there are plenty of talented professional bunting makers out there happy to take the stress away from you.  Use bunting to follow through your colour theme or even as in the image above, to spell out messages to your guests.

Cover your chairs with a soft fabric and delicate looking ribbon to create a more romantic old fashioned feel to the venue.

Get inventive with your flower displays.  These teacups make great flower arrangements dotted throughout the tables.  Also using mismatched vintage style crockery gives a lovely decadent feel to your reception.  Don't worry, you do not need to spend every weekend rummaging through car boot sales or antique fairs, there are plenty of websites that specialise in hiring out vintage crockery.

Talking of crockery, why not add to the look by hiring some amazing cake stands.  These can be used to hold traditional tea party treats like sandwiches and slices of Victoria sponge.  You could even hold the reception in a church/village hall for a real vintage tea party atmosphere.

And if you really want to have fun, why not invite willing guests to to see if they can join you by dressing to match the vintage feel.

I hope that these ideas give you some inspiration for your vintage themed reception.  But above all, on your big day, make sure that you have loads of fun.
