Regal Glamour

Bridal hair accessory trends have for some time favoured understated vintage glamour with flat side tiaras being a favourite.  However, tall tiaras are starting to fight back.

Back in mid 2009 before the influence of the Royal Wedding, I could feel that it would not be too long before a change was on its way.  As with all types of fashion, wedding trends tend to be cyclic, albeit on a much slower scale due to people organising weddings one to two years in advance. Hair accessories were getting more and more simplistic with some brides even opting for wearing nothing in their hair but chose to concentrate more on a statement necklace or earrings.  But with all trends when one starts to go to the extremes, it usually turns back in the completely opposite direction with a modern day twist.

The twist now is that brides are looking for a more regal look rather than pure bling.  The combination of  tall beautiful tiaras and sophisticated wedding dresses achieves this contemporary look to perfection.  Think more modern day Princess Kate Middleton rather than pumpkins and glass slippers Cinderella!

You can view these tiaras in more detail here.

Everlasting Flowers

Summer is nearly here and with it comes the Wedding season. Inspired by the wonderful array of buds bursting into blossom I wanted to create a collection that celebrates all things floral. I have been selling this collection from my studio in Dorset for the past couple of months and I thought it was about time I added them to my online designs. It is lovely to see that they are going down a storm.

One of the things brides have told me that they love about my hand beaded flowers are that they able able to wear one or more flowers in their hair without any worry of them wilting throughout the day. Each flower is handmade by myself using a choice of silver or gold plated wire and the colour choices available mean that bridesmaids accessories can be made to match their dresses.

After the wedding is over, your 'stay fresh' flowers are a lovely reminder of the day that can be worn again and again.

This lovely Small Beaded Flower can be made in a variety of seed bead colours and only £9.00 each.  I am going to be wearing these in my hair to this years music festivals :)

One of this years brides chose these beautiful Medium Beaded Flower £16.00, for her bridesmaids and paired them with the Small Beaded Flowers so that each bridesmaid had a small and medium flower holding the side of their hair back.

The Miranda Beaded Flower £45.00, is a stunning hair vine and is available in different colours.  The hair vine can be secured in place by putting kirby grips through the loops that I make at either end of the vine.  This is a great piece for any bride or indeed any lucky bridesmaid and co-ordinates well with the beaded hair pins.  Imagine wearing this vine after your big day on a warm summers evening out.

Royal Inspired Tiara

After watching the Royal Wedding, I felt it was only right to make a design inspired by Catherine's stunning tiara. Ok, so it's not made out of diamonds, but Swarovski crystals should make you smile.

And you will be pleased to know that you don't have to be a royal to afford this one!

Enjoy xx

Watching The Royal Wedding With Style!

The day of the 29th April 2011 was spent in great company watching the The Royal Wedding.  And as I have my own tiara company, I thought it would be daft not to join in the festivities without a good bit of Regal Glamour (by the way I am the one in black wishing I had put some makeup on!)

I thought that the Royal couple looked amazing and so in love.

Of course a bottle of fizzy was opened to celebrate and a change of tiara.

Sadly even at a Royal party, the washing up needs to be done.  It is good to see that housework does not stop the need to be glam!

Congratulations to Prince William and Catherine xx
