Today I thought it would be nice to focus on some of the different wedding dress trends that are gracing wedding venues across the Western World.
The bride of today is very fortunate to have such a plethora of styles at their finger tips. I can remember how hard it was when I got married 12 years ago to find a dress that would not fill the aisle up when all I wanted was a slim fitting corseted style. Although not very long ago, if you lived out in the sticks one style suits all seemed to be the way. Luckily I would have to say that a rather fabulous boutique came up trumps with only 2 months to go - phew. However if I was getting married now, I think my main problem would be how to narrow down my choice. The Internet has had an amazing affect on the wedding industry making designs and inspiration available to everyone, and the growing number of wedding venues allows the bride to choose somewhere that reflects their personality as well as their beliefs.
The Traditional Bride
This is probably the most popular look. Frills and hoops have been replaced with lovely, often corseted dresses that show off the bride's figure in flattering understated elegance.
The Contemporary Bride
The edgy, shorter length dress is perfect for city style weddings.
Boho Bride
From city chic to the romantic bohemian look. This style works especially well for outdoor woodland or even beach style weddings. Sadly with our weather system, making sure that there is a convenient beautifully decorated barn or boat shed somewhere close by is a must!
Lifestyle Bride
This look is one that comes not from the inspiration of the catwalk but from the bride's lifestyle and can open the door to a tapestry of fantastic unique individualised style.
Vintage Bride
The vintage look has been one of the hottest trends around and looks like it is set to stay. The soft contours and lace details create an elegant romantic look that harps back to the days of silent movies and old school Hollywood glamour.
19th Century Bride
For the true romantics amongst us, taking inspiration from an era when the Classic Romantic novelists wrote about true love conquering all is a must. Think 'Pride and Predjudice' or 'Emma' for perfect bridal inspiration.
I would like to thank JuneBugWeddings.com and Ally for their fantastic images and I hope that this blog helps to give you the inspiration that you require for your big day.
