Alchemy Arts

It’s been a busy week making amongst other things, lovely gold beaded bridesmaid flower hair pins.  They are going to look fantastic and will really compliment the bride’s white beaded flower hair vine.

Spent Saturday with the family going around Bridport market in Dorset.  Fantastic day hunting around all the different stalls finding things from old colourful stamps to Lego star wars games which will help to amuse my children in this grotty weather.  My daughter and I also checked out the charity shops as I am now addicted to “Alchemy Arts, recycling is chic” by Kate MacKay and Di Jennings.  It’s a book jam packed with all sorts of ideas about recycling old clothes into new chic items.  After a lot of trawling we found an old net curtain that I am trying (main word here is def. trying!) to turn into a lovely new skirt for my daughter.  Not sure if it is going to be a disaster yet but it is a lot of fun, especially when I have no skills at all in making clothes.  I hope to post a pic of the great “Skirtain” in due course (unless it is soo bad then I will forget I ever tried it :))  Wish me luck.  If you fancy checking the Alchemy Arts website out the address is www.alchemyarts.org
